A great signing in my opinion.
A model professional if ever there was one, never complains or bemoans his luck, gets his head down and keeps working and never takes anything for granted. Scores some good and important goals too.
He's one of the players some of our younger players could look at and take note of.
And he's one of our midfielders some of our other younger players have to dislodge from the starting XI.
Graham Dorrans signs for another 3 years

He's certainly proved me wrong. I was in the 'get rid' camp before his sparkling form in the second half of the season.
Big credit to Pepe Mel imo. Gave him a run and got his confidence back.
Happy with this.
I'm also happy with our Summer recruitments so far except one. And I've tied it in with this thread as he's shares Dozza's position.
Still unsure on why we signed Gardner when we already have Mulumbu, Yacob, Thorne, Dorrans, Mozza all better in that position. I thought he'd been signed as RB cover but that what the Baird signing was about apparently. Could understand if CG was an improvement on any of the existing CM's but I'd rather play any of them over him. It's actually an area I though we were at our strongest before the window opened and didn't need strengthening.

I totally echo your thoughts Aries.
I have always liked Dorrans and certainly not in the 'Dorrans Out' camp. He is a model professional and I'm delighted he has secured his future with WBA. We all know he suffered domestic issues which hopefully, are well behind him now and this is reflected in his vast form improvement over the past year.

Actually I have mixed feelings. Truth is none of us have seen more than flashes of the ability we saw when he was runner-up championship player of the season. Then he beat guys like Adam and Taarabt to get the vote. He was our best player and scored some great goals. We turned some biggish bids from West Ham. He has never shown such commanding form in the premier.
In the latter stages of last year he started to deliver and re-ignited our hopes. I so hope he was not just playing for this contract and disappears once more.

JH, I don't know about Graig Gardner, but Chris Baird has played very successfully at LB, RB and DM. I think Gardner might figure less in the season to come and that the back four will be Pocognoli, Olsson, Lescott and Baird. If we get Jason Davidson in I'll be reasonably happy, but another specialist RB would be needed - André Wisdom or Alan Hutton? Hmm, not sure about those.

Albion...
Newcastle sign their top target Rivière and so albion fans celebrate signing up Dorrans, an average midfielder who has been on your bench for years.

Wolves and Derby fans can only dream of having a midfield like Albion's. Dorrans was away from the first team squad for well-documented non-footballing reasons. His signing is nothing to do with any other club signing any other player. I'm just pleased he's signed another contract, that's all.
Wolves55, that'll be Izzy Brown, and if I'm not mistaken he will never make the Chelsea first team come the serious season.
