Love how so called hip hop heads slander anyone who says Eminem or Jay is the GOAT just because theyve cracked mainstream as well. And they study in their rooms for hours tryna find old KRS one albums or immortal technique verses.

Jay Z said so himself, he could've stuck to proper hip hop but he cared about sales so eased down his lyrics to the rest of the world could understand it. As he says 'rather be over rated than underpaid'. Whilst Em's lyrics are good, they aren't poetic as Nas or others. That's the difference. The general audience wants something easy to understand.

Nas although can be very deep and personal, some say poetic, also has gone on about a hell of a lot of the same stuff over the years. Nas is probably my 3rd or 4th favourite of all time. But Eminem has just as much content of work, yet has had songs also that are poor pop songs that but has caught the public.
You can't tell me that songs like soldier, till i collapse, the way i am, criminal, are not uneblievable talent. even recently rap god. The way he uses syllables and metaphors is unbelievable.
People underesimate ems content coz of his popularity. just look at renegade(destroyed jay) Patiently waiting(destroyed 50) he destroyed the game on the documentary, destroyed d block(welcome to d block)destroyed kanye,drake and lil wayne on forever, destroyed wayne on no love and drop the world. When he has to, eminem can lyrically beat anyone and has a flow to match.
nas has still jumped on songs with ja rule, J lo etc to say he isnt mainstream is due to his lack of pop songs not due to his calibre as an MC

Look not saying Em hasn't got talent. But it's a personal preference. No doubt he's made some great songs but I find him a level or so below Nas. Rewind is pure genius as was the diss to Jay Z

but em is a level above not below. nas seemed to get a bit outdated. I don't remember too many people getting many albums after streets deciple.(loved that album) and not many got untitled i do not think.(loved that album too) but your doing em a disservice to say hes a level below.

Em is extremely talented, but is he a better MC than Ghostface, Raekwon, Big Pun, Biggie, Pac, Nas, Mos Def, Talib, Rakim ?!?!

Just because he had Dre's production and worldwide popularity doesnt change the fact that he is one of the best. If not THE. Not being disrespectful if you say Nas is a level above em, then surely thats disrespectful too.

Story telling, passion,content, vesatitlity, speed, personality. he'd beat most Mc's in most categories.
