Main points

- Cellino says he expects five or six more signings before the season starts. Club are in for Berardi and Viviani.

- Cellino's spoken to the council about possible sites for a new training ground in Leeds.

- Cellino has said again that he'll buy Elland Road by November either through a mortgage or in straight cash if no bank will lend to the club

Didn't someone continually knock Cellino irrespective of what he said?

You just can't help it can you Jonty?

Key point for me:

“At Cagliari we looked at players from France, Sweden, Germany, Argentina and Brazil but most of them I didn’t think were right to play in the Championship. Because here the players are like Vikings. They’re going to kill the other guy! So I need to decide which players have the right skills but are also strong enough to play in England. This is high-level, physical football.”

Great to hear that he is considering this when signing players. Could be why the club passed on Rossini and Ely. That may also explain the Doukara signing - physical, strong player.

Jonty. You're bitterness is spoiling you're reputation as a good poster

chorley....

I didn't post on your thread the other day, didn't think it right as he actually sees me as the one that causes all you chaps to berate him now and again. I am the devil apparently.

Sadly he doesn't appear to read the behind the comments, on this, that and other threads over time, all saying the same thing.

This is a quote from over a year ago, a comment by another poster

"... The reason I post a lot less here is down to one person, Jonty. Who is most conceited bore I have come across on a Leeds forum....!"

It is not a new thing, he's been like this for a couple of years. Massimo Cellino just happens to be in the cross hairs at the moment, this comment was made before Massimo Cellino was even conceived..!!

Jonty is becoming a figure of ridicule to many.

Re the OP, I am of the opinion that this fellow has done more in a short period of time to suggest we're on the right road.

It's going to be fun, embrace the change and run with it.

Best, the club did not 'pass' on Rossini, despite what Cellino would have you believe. Rossini has a baby with health issues and declined the offer of a transfer from the club.

You need to take Cellino's comments with a large pinch of salt.

aint that the truth

If that's true, then alright, fair play to Rossini.

Either way, it's nice to read that Cellino is considering whether these signings will be good in the Championship, not just that they are good players.

Jonty has pitched his tent in a particular camp. Everything will have a negative spin. That dilutes the credibility of his opinion which is unfortunate because occasionally he makes valid comments.

We've shared similar views in the past but it would seem we are polarised over Cellino. I don't have my head in the sand, I expect a roller coaster of a ride with ups and downs but ultimately we'll progress under this man.

Hockaday is a mystery but he's not the main man. He's part of a team. If it works, fantastic, if it doesn't it's not irreparable.

The players coming in are largely unknown but all seem to be young and ambitious, Taylor apart. A pleasant change from the OAPs that came in under Warnock.

I'm excited by this new era. More and more appear to be supporting Cellino's way. Good times around the corner.....
