I don't think Jose has a choice. Torres has a contract for another 2 seasons, and Lukaku is still not good enough. Torres will likely be second choice starting striker - and Drogba will be more likely to come on as a sub - in my opinion.
If Torres decides to leave, Jose will be able to invest that salary in a better player - but until then I'm not sure what other choice he has.

Do a Malouda with him.

Drogba will be an impact sub. A role he can play very well. I doubt he will start a single game unless we have an injury/form crisis with our strikers.
