first XI for next season and transfers

Out of our current players i would go for :

Lloris

Walker Vertonghem Kaboul? Davies

Holtby Sandro
Eriksen

Lamela Soldado? Chadli

The question marks represent positions we are currently weaker in and may need to bring in someone to replace the current person in the starting XI. At centre back we either a crocked kaboul, chirches who on his day is quality but very much like luiz is prone to mistakes and being out of position and finally dawson who although i respect as a man he will simply not bring us top 4 if he plays. Options to come in to partner vertonghem are de vrij (22) who has been linked to several top clubs for a couple of years now including us, united and liverpool, i feel he showed his worth in the world cup and would be quality next to vertonghem and from what heard he is avaible for around 10 million other options include hector moreno and N'kolou.

CF is also a problem, ade has a questionble attitude, kane is too inexperienced to lead a team to top 4 leaving only soldado as a potential man to lead our attack however we have no idea whether he will be able to accustome to the conditions in england. Bony and lukaku would be good options costing around 20 million and from what ive seen pochetino likes a big strong man upfront.

Schneiderlin and griezeman would both be quality signings however the wings and midfield are far stronger positions than CF amd CB so should use the limited funds levy puts into transfer kitty to improve the weakest positions.

If we could get the signings ive mentioned then i would like to see dawson, rose, ade and bae leave the club. If we could get around 15 million for these guys i would be a happy guy it would decrease wages with presumebly dawson, bae and ade all being high earners.

Anway back to the point of the article the first XI. Goalkeeper is pretty strong with lloris starting and vorm to fill in if he gets himself injured, knowing spurs when lloris does get injured something will happen to vorm leaving archer or friedel to fill in and even then we'll have probably just sent archer off on loan and friedel will be in america promoting us leaving some fat kid to fill in for us.

Davies and walker for me are both very good young full backs who have a lot of potentail. At the central of defence it really depends on who we can get in hopefully if we get de vrij him vertonghem will form a strong partnership with kaboul and chirches back up.

In central midfield we have sandro and holtby who will be brilliant at pressing and winning the ball back and with holtby also having a very good pass on him i expect good things in central midfield and with many other options including capoue, dembele, bentaleb and paulinho central midfield could be one of our strongest points. Slightly of topic i just wanted to say ive been mystified about some fans attitude to paulinho, this was a player who came to the club as one of the star players of the confed cup with chelsea and madrid also chasing his signature, yes he has not performed this year due to accustomising to a new league and team and his confindence has seemed to affected his ability but can we please judge him after his 2nd season at the club same with lamela, soldado etc

At lw chadli showed towards the end of the season he could contribute with goals and rw lamela could add a lot of goals and creativity to our attack if he plays to his potential. At attacking mid we have our best player who created so much for a team who were pretty flat last season, eriksen is just a special player nothing more i can really say.

As previously mentioned i do not believe ade and kane have it in them to be 20 plus a season strikers who lead their teams into the champions league although id love to be proved wrong leaving soldado and it's a 50:50 scenario whether he has confindence to become the striker he was in spain as well as accustomising to the conditions in our league and pochetino's style of play which means the success of our team very much depends in whether we can bring in one of lukaku or bony. With pochetino seeming to be succesful with big men upfront with his success of lambert if we can get one of lukaku or bony who both epl experience we could have a very succesful season ahead with both players being 10 times as good as liverpool

Could be Hengy, but I haven't seen him play as a deep lying/box to box mid at all. He's been at his best feeding the forwards and hassling the back four.. I'm not doubting he could do a job there but I'm curious as to why anyone would start him in a position he's barely played.

He done it in the last friendly next to Carroll but yea he's better abit further forward.

Would really like to see Lamela Eriksen & Holtby all start together behind the forward!!
They are our most technically gifted players and with them all interchanging it would cause alot of damage to the other teams defence IMO

Guys that was the position he played at schackle which gained him recognition. Got converted to an AM in his final season there so he only player in that position for around 4 to 5 months before he came to us so i think we can safely say he's got experience as a cm.

He only played as a CM at Schalke because they had Raul. As soon as he left Lewis was back to playing behind the striker, his performances in the league and CL earned him a move to Spurs.

I don't think he's got the discipline to be a holding mid, imo he's far more suited to playing in a front 3 that presses high and moves the ball quickly..

One season at CM.. obviously he can play there but we've got Sandro, Capoue, Dembele, Bentaleb, Carroll..

For me holtby would be brilliant at am or cm . Infact hengy you've made me change my mind an attacking 3 of:

eriksen holtby lamela

Would bring a lot of creativity and goals.

With maybe dembele coming into partner sandro or possibly capoue.

Thankyou hengy for showing me your wisdom

I feel dembele and sandro formed such a strong partnership in the first half of the 2012/2013 season which allowed us to play some brilliant counter attacling football. If they can get back to their form in that season and with far more creative options ahead of them in eriksen, lamela and holtby aswell as an improved soldado or bony willing to bang in the goals we could have a succesful season if we can sort out the defence

Is Sandro healthy now?
And can he last the season?
Otherwise we will need a strong DM.
