So what's the crack with him? Is he with Liverpool for the coming season or is there a move away in the pipe line for him? If he stays then who's B.R.'s first choice?
Seen him sitting with Gerrard and the boys in the Roma game and it made me think that we got 2 decent goalkeepers if he stays. Could it happen that one plays all the cup matches and one in the league?

Got to ask questions of Reina if even being at a club where the manager who signed him previously and showed so much faith in him doesn't want to make the move to Napoli permanent.
But by jingo Jones is a steaming pile of horsemanure. Pepe with both hands tired to his bollôcks is a better back up option than Brad.
As for Pepe's wages what happens if Mig gets injured and we get dumped out of the CL as a result of not having any decent back up? We need two decent goalkeepers for the coming season.

With the funds that we supposedly have it would be criminal to start the season with Jones as backup.
Reina will go on loan again. No wants to pay him the salary he is on.

Look at the difference in prize money in the Premier League based on finishing league position.
For every place up the table you finish, you get £1,236,083. Therefore, if Reina is a better keeper than Jones and has to start for Liverpool, it could be worth paying his wages if we finish higher in the league due to his saves.

but that's just not true. benitez does still rate him, and does want to sign him permanently, the problem is Napoli don't want to pay our asking price for him, and we're not accepting the amount they're offering, and neither side seem to be prepared to budge on those figures at the moment.

Liverpool and Napoli had no problem agreeing a fee...it was I think 5m.
the issue was that Reina wants 5m a year, which would make him the highest paid player at Napoli, so no chance of that. Especially as Reinas performances were very inconsistent and Napoli have a very good young GK ready to be first choice.
Reina made some great saves but also cost us a win at Livorno and his idiocy in last minute lost us game at home to Fiorentina who were just behind us in ECL race.

Why, what did he do?
