I know Rev will get very excited by this article so I have decided to publish it.
Talking of Change with the City Ground becoming most likely the Kuwaiti City Ground, I was thinking after watching the Commonwealth Games last night, should the National anthem of England change?
Officially we don't actually have an official anthem for the national anthem of England with the British anthem being used at most occasions of "God Save the Queen." However at the Commonwealth games, "Jerusalem" is the national anthem for the country.
This actually got me thinking, should "Jerusalem" become the national anthem of England? In my opinion it feels more like a patriotic song for England and indeed to be truthful is probably a more "passionate" song then that of "God save the Queen" which isn't the most provoking of anthems.
Being a supporter of the monarchy, I am all for "God Save the Queen" being the anthem for the United Kingdom, but should we in England follow the route of the other home nations and change ours to "Jerusalem"?
(It might actually mean that the other home nations particularly Scotland and Wales may sing the national anthem of the United Kingdom as well, as they see it as an English rather then "British anthem")
Thought's?

National Anthem of England?

SBD, I think you're deluded if you think there's a lot more people who want to keep the monarchy than get rid of it. I'd say it's pretty evenly split. Personally, of all the people I know well enough to have spoken with about this kind of thing, I don't know a single one who thinks the royal family are worthwhile.

I wouldn't say so.
This was last year but in this poll by ComRes only 17% wanted to get rid of the monarchy and have a republic so I think there are a lot more who want to keep it..

A pole in the bloody Telegraph wants to keep the monarchy. Shocker. Would be interested to see what a less conservative paper came up with. Who knows, maybe it's just the kind of people I know, then. Anyway, I'm going to retire from this pointless argument. Just in case you weren't clear on my point, though, I despise the royal family and everything their existence says about our country. Hope that was clear. Peace to all, enjoy your Saturday night.
