Visited the club shop today to pick up a couple of kits for my seven year. For the third year on the trot it was an absolute shambles.
There weren't any away shorts in any boys sizes available, we managed to get the last pair of goalkeepers shorts. We also had to purchase oversized goalkeepers socks to complete the kit. When we got to the the till we also paid for a name and number on the back. We were then informed that the shop had no black number 1s available to put on the keepers kit.
Also picked the lad the home kit up which to be fair was well stocked.
Complete lack of business acumen and commercial enterprise.
Why do we launch kits so late in the summer? Why aren't the stock levels able to meet the demand? Surely if our kits were launched early in summer sales would be higher. When I queried the lack of stock I was told they get what they get from kitbag in Manchester and have to make the best of it which is absolute nonsense. Surely they must forecast what they are going to sell and place orders based on this?
Distinct lack of customer service as well.
Last season the away kit wasn't available until the season had started, the goalkeepers kit wasn't in the shop until September. The year before (the John Pye strip) was obviously the year the club changed hands so problems were to be expected. The last two years though under the new regime have been a shambles.
For the second year on the spin two weeks before the season starts we don't have a sponsor which means a return visit to the shop to get this printed.
On products where the mark up will be at 700% +, the club are shooting themselves in the foot due to lack of availability.
What should have been a pleasurable experience for the third year on the spin was a fiasco.
We don't seem very commercially savvy.

You blame Fawaz for a contract signed by the last regime!
Complain to the club and it will help us to blow them out.

Things were better under the old system where club stock was available in all sports shops in Notts as it meant you could get it at a reasonable price. Now it is exclusively **itbag, it hasn't been great. I would've thought if there were enough complaints, Fawaz would lookup get out of the deal or put some pressure on them to improve.
