@chrislepkowski: Understand there is a bid from an overseas club for bid for Claudio Yacob, Story to follow. #wba
@chrislepkowski: If Yacob is sold (and I believe #wba are expecting that to happen) then a like-for-like replacement will be sought
@chrislepkowski: Cork, Tejeda and Rodwell have been among the midf'ers looked at by #wba .
Yacob is off

Sad to see him go, but we got him for nothing, and if we get £4-5m I'd be happy to let him go. I would have had Dorrans in the starting XI ahead of him

Cracking first season. Injuries plagued his season last year though.
Mixed feelings on this tbh. I like Yacob.

Like him a lot but think we've seen the best of him and a replacement will be lined up no doubt

The combination of Yacob and Mulumbu in their first season was outstanding but, Yacob's contribution has diminished somewhat from those heady days.

If Rodwell replaces him

Not rate Rodwell Kanga?
I personally would love Cork as his potential replacement. Saints fans are up in arms he might be leaving them.

Also,
Davidson finally going to sign.
Get Gamboa's permit and the DF is sorted
@chrislepkowski: Suspect #wba got fed up of waiting for Heracles & Davidson to resolve dispute. Expect he'll command a small fee. Only has (at most) 1yr left

Just replacing one player that spent a bit of time on the injury table last season with one that will definitely end up on there.
Even if on loan, its pointless signing the fella as our only holding midfielder.
I'd be happy with Cork if Yacob must leave. Tidy player.

I'd be happy to keep a fit and uninjured Yacob, but he definitely wasn't all that last season - I felt he'd lost a yard.
Meanwhile, Everton buy Romelu Lukaku for £28 million. That looks very expensive.
