It seems to be doing the rounds that we have earmarked these two as potential 'marquee' signings. Whilst giving Remy the number 7 shirt signals to me we are not after one, I still think it is worth looking at these deals.
PSG are making no secret about their desire for Di Maria. However FFP is dictating they need to sell first. Obviously their wingers and peripheral players will be the first to go. Lavezzi is a superb winger and the price quoted is £18M, which is staggeringly a bargain at today's prices - I mean Jesus that's £7M less than we stumped up for Lallana!
I have never believed the Reus rumours in all honesty. However, it appears he has rejected a new contract and I cannot see Dortmund selling another of their stars to Bayern Munich. With this in mind, this is our best chance to go all out for him. Throw money out there which we apparently still have to spend, as he is a top quality player.
Whilst neither of these are deals I feel likely to truly happen, either would astound me and would improve us to the point we may actually be close to the level of first team we were with Suarez on board.
Thoughts?
Lavezzi & Reus

Torres is a shadow of his former self and is absolutely spent as far as the premiership is concerned. Maybe he can make it back in Spain but I doubt it.
I agree with KLS, I can't see us shelling out 18m on a 29 year old. I've never been particularly sold on him anyway. Or Pastore for that matter. Whenever I've seen them they look good but not outstanding. If we were to pinch anyone from PSG then Lucas Moura would be my choice. Doubt he'd be available though.
Reus would be a dream signing but will remain just that - a dream.

We only need a lb and striker now!

Thank you for the comments guys, all taken in the spirit they've been given. As WCR has said, there's no explaining as to how far, how quickly his star has fallen. Tragic, really.

OK, that makes more sense. I've been working silly hours the last few days, was genuinely wondering if I'd missed the deal being back on or something

I've been impressed with Lavezzi in the Champs League and was slightly less impressed at the World Cup. However, he is 29.

On reus, if he leaves I bet its nailed on he goes to bayern. No matter what players bayern have taken from them.
Would be the exact signing we though, but would he come to us over bayern?
