442 here to stay

I think that now the defence is more solid than last season SG feels safer playing the 442 system and having a good holding midfielder in Clayton we will worry better teams than West Ham, that is providing we can keep the defence strong we will be with a shout for promotion come next May.
It's still early to say who the main opposition will be as most teams have yet to find there best line up, but I have not see anyone playing better than we've played in the last few games and I know we got well beat by Southamton but since then our defence has been sorted ie: O'Brien and Connolly not being picked and Lonergan settling in.

should have played 442 last season too but Grayson felt the need to protect a poor defence with 3 CMs who were also poor as a 3
Had Clayton played instead of Livermore/Kilkenny/Johnson last season surely we would have made the play offs at worst.
Lets hope Brown and Obrien dont get recalls.
Clayton is far more than a holding midfielder,he is the complete player

Exactly Revies and it wasn't just Grayson, I couldn't believe how many 606 ers refused to consider 4-4-2 especially when Somma was on fire.
