Liverpool take on Milan knowing that they are already through to the final of the International Champions Cup on Monday, following Olympiakos's victory on penalties over Manchester City.

Liverpool haven't faced Milan since that defeat in Athens in the 2007 Champions League final, but there were joyous scenes two years earlier in Istanbul when arguably the greatest ever European Cup final took place.

A lot has changed on the European stage for both sides since those final meetings, with both falling from grace.

Whereas Liverpool will be returning to the top Euro table this season after a second placed finish in the Premier League last term, Milan on the other hand finished in a disappointing 8th place in Serie A which resulted in Seedorf losing his job after a short spell in charge. He was replaced by 2007 Champions League final winner Filippo Inzaghi.
