Conor Coady

Signed from Liverpool today

posted on 6/8/14

The pool fans seem to be of the opinion he's a decent little player. Good on the ball and tough in the tackle.

Signing players we actually need...whatever next?!

not injury prone either...played 50 games for Sheffield Utd last season...only 21...He'll be a good pedigree coming from Liverpool.

Maybe our missing link in midfield ?

thanks for the comment kneerash

Really? In that case I think you’ve got yourselves a good player.

Didn’t think he was going to make it with us...there is so much competition, and he didn’t really have anything that made him truly stand out.....but I saw him play for Sheff United at Fulham last season, and he was excellent.

Couple of very decent performances in pre-season games for us, too. Very good work-ethic, tidy control, puts a tackle in, disciplined, and very much a team-player.

Hope it works out for him, he has a very good attitude...

He sounds as if he is a no nonsense good player.someone we have been crying out for in midfield.

Has Clayton definitely gone? No official word from HTFC.

think Town want Butterfield as part of the deal with Boro' but he's stalling on a move to Town...and so the deal is sort of 'pending' ? Rumour that Brighton have made a higher bid too....so who knows ?

Coady sounds like a much deeper lying player than Clayts. I imagine he's more of a Hogg type player which provides more depth and competition there. Majewski will be the one filling Clayton's shoes should he go.

From what I've read on the interwebs this Coady lad has all the right physical and mental attributes to be a real success here. I saw a tweet from one of his coaches at Liverpool complimenting him on his exceptional attitude. He was a part of the England U17 squad that won the 2010 European Championship and also captain of the U20 squad for the 2013 U20 World Cup. Having spent a while on the fringes of the Liverpool first team, I reckon he'll be a man with a point to prove. Plenty of scousers in our squad so he'll feel right at home straight away. At £375,000 this could be an epic bit of business from the club.

Am I right in thinking we wanted Butterfield a while ago too? To be honest if he's not fancying the move then there's no way we should pursue it. We don't need players who aren't up for the fight.
