Wage bill was bloated from MON time, I am sure I remember reading an article about Villa signing Habib Beye on a 4 year £40k a week contract - he barely played.

But Villa sold Milner, Young, Downing, Barry for the best part of £80m - so their must have been a fair few players on big wages.
