I think the fact that Guardian and reputed sources have reported that we are enquiring around for the likes of Falcao and Cavani shows that Rodgers has identified we need another one. It's a shame the Remy deal fell through as he would have been the perfect foil in our team - quick, strong and can lead the line. Sturridge is still yet to convince many fans that he can still play as a lone striker but I feel with the other attacking talent we have in other areas we should be fine. The problem as everyone says will occur when he gets injured.

If we don't sign a striker then we need Lallana, Markovic, Coutinho, Henderson and Sterling to chip in more goals, and we need to defend better.

Arsenal only really had Giroud last season with Walcott largely injured, Sanogo a kid and Bendtner awful. They made up for it, in the main, by getting goals from all over the pitch but also by being more solid (apart from the obvious big game meltdowns).

If we can't get near last seasons 101 goal tally then we need to make sure we are conceding nearer 30 than 50.
