Apologies now if this has already been the subject of comment or a thread but I haven't noticed anything - rather to my surprise to be honest. I can't be the only who has seen it.
Anyway the Sunday Times today reported that we have 'sounded out' Lansbury [Arsenal's England under-21 international] about a full transfer. Arsenal apparently value him at £1million plus the usual appearance and promotion add-ons.
What little I saw of him on TV last year and in a couple of games at Norwich etc he looked a handy player.
He would presumably fit the profile we have been going for by way of 'the future'.
Lansbury to Leeds?

He would be a fantastic signing.

No he wouldn't Yorkie he'd be a fantastic signing if he wasn't a midfielder, we do not need midfielders.

I think we still need one. Who comes in for Clayton or Howson. Brown? No one else can play in the middle.
Need 4 good central midfielders. Could always make the room for him.

Nunez is a central attacking midfielder who can play winger and forward.

agree with you yorkie, a player like Lansbury will improve us, he was class for norwich last season, also agree we need a RB, i reckon Eric will come back, connolly is not good enough.

Would still rather the £1m be spent elsewhere. Midfield is not a priority.

Sorry Lansbury instead of Howson in the team!

666 and others...I just wonder whether he sees Lansbury as one for the future, in the same way as he saw Clayton.
I know it is a bit of a stretch given Lansbury has actually got some experience over the last couple of seasons albeit away from Arsenal whereas Clayton had pretty much no experience beyond City Reserves.
So perhaps he sees him as someone to be used occasionally this season and then in place of, say, Brown next season and beyond.
Lansbury certainly has some finesse and an Arsenal schooling that will have instilled passing skills and a good temperament and an intelligence.
