Assombalonga

After two games, what do we think of our new and record signing Assombalonga? Personally, I thought he looked great on Saturday, just needed a little luck and perhaps a bit better service from the centre of the park (the sort of service that could be supplied by Lansbury) and last night, well after the sending off it was always going to be all hands to the pump and it did sound on the radio like he was certainly doing his bit in defence. It can always be tough for news strikers if they don't get off the mark straightaway, but I hope SP keeps faith with him as our no.1 choice striker.

I don't do it often, Blackstarr. I just find you particularly annoying.

Hey blackstarr,, calm down., lay off the diet coke ... It will all work out in the end.

This reminds me of when your at school. The kid who thinks he's hard or special, then goes up to the next level at school (Lower to Middle etc..). He then realises nobody likes him there and he comes back to prove a point and gets a good kicking.

Leeds were a poor side, with the leagues top scorer was it? I'm sure he'll prove us all wrong with the quality service he gets from Leeds.....say hello to the Premiership boards...and hopefully we will see you there next season.

Every transfer is a gamble, and while I'm worried about the price tag, hopefully Assombalonga will prove his worth. Billy Sharp is a great signing for Leeds, if they can get the ball to him he will score 15+ goals for them, and I'd have him at Forest without hesitating, but he wouldn't be first choice, and he doesn't need more splinters at this time in his career.

Sharp really went off the boil when SOD went and whether that was his attitude or how the new manager(s) utilised him, we'll never know. I think he is or has been a good striker at this level, but I'm still not a member of his fan club in the sort of way a lot of our followers have been.

Whereas the money for Brit is a risk, he is very highly regarded and it could prove to be a decent move in the end. We'll have to see but he's tied down a long contract and is still pretty young.

How much would the Collymore fee work out as these days? Each player/signing is different but back then it was viewed by a lot as a risk or waste of money. I can recall the chants relating to it in the early stages. Notably against Notts where he went on to score the winner

Our fans need some patience, unlike Rafik he's shown good attitude and endeavor so far which is good.

Morninchile if the responses on here are the forum equivalent of receiving a kicking from a couple of Forest fans, then I hope none of them ever attend a Millwall game. Unless by kicking you actually mean softly pushing a flan into someone's face whilst apologising profusely.

Ray, Florist, completely agree

.....that Britt is a risk but has been tied down for his best years and that Sharp is a great signing for Leeds. You have to factor the £600k into that argument though

Thoroughly impressed with him yesterday. Nice to see a Forest striker take on a defence like that. Not had someone with that kind I endeavour since DJ and PVH.

Regarding this £5.5m fee that keeps getting bandied about, the actual fee was undisclosed and this £5.5m was clearly a figure put out by Barry Fry at Posh to placate their fans. Whatever the price, I reckon Forest have brought a potential promotion winner....😮

Congalonga made that first goal look easy. But watch it again on the replay, it was far from simple, Cox would have fluffed that over the bar!

It was quite high off the ground when he volleyed it. I would have put my hip out attempting to do that! A Bolton fan described him as a "walking wardrobe" to me after the match. Is that a compliment?
