A lot of rumours going round that we've bid £7 million (ish) for Matt Jarvis.
Surely this can't be true?!
Matt Jarvis?

He's not on the radar according to SM/CL

West ham paid 10.5 mill for him! We have Roger Johnson,JOH and Doyle if you want anymore of our old boys!!!!!

We only want the ones you couldn't keep hold of. Not the hangers-on that you can't pay other clubs to take off your hands!

So no to Jarvis, no to Biabiany. May be Jerome Thomas will make a return to the Shrine?!

The Jarvis 'link' has been around for a few weeks.
Would be a good addition, if it came off. Good player.
Not sure about £7m though.

I can't work out what's happening at West Ham. Allardyce has made lots of signings this summer in some sort of attempt at increasing the number of players in his squad, but I can't see how he's increased the quality. It seems as if he thinks the more big-money players he signs, the more West Ham will be guaranteed to stay up. It's the same with Steve Bruce at Hull, buying or trying to buy several players, including trying to hijack one or two deals Albion were chasing. Seems Steve Bruce has been caught out over Shane Long though. I don't think Shane Long met Bruce's expectations, and he'll be happy to get Southampton's money.

Wasn't Fat Sam close to getting sacked but he kept his job on the proviso that he got the team playing more attractive football?
Good luck with that fatty!

That's right Coxy, he was told he had to play attractive football or else. I gather he's still under notice of that.

I reckon he could be the first to get sacked Aries. I simply can't see Sam changing. Like Pulis he has one way of playing.
If I was the chairman of West Ham I would've moved him on in May.

Don't particualrly rate Jarvis. He's a speed merchant and little else, relying on running down the wing as fast as he can before he crosses the ball out of play. Strange that we are linked with Jarvis for £7m but won't pay £8m for Biabany.
Whoever we sign I hope we make it quick. The lack of wingers at the club is a real concern considering its a problem that hasn't been addressed for about two seasons now. Transfer window that started so well may end up leaving us looking for last minute panic deals agan.

Teix, it does appear strange sometimes doesn't it, the way we go about chasing some targets. As usual, I bet we don't know the half of what goes on. Let's hope we get the signings we need and are comfortable with.
