First manager to go before ball kicked

Pulis has gone before even a ball has been kicked. Is this a sign of an even more aggressive approach by owners than previously? Pochettino had better watch out!

I think Pulis walked. I've seen somewhere that there were promises about signings that never materialised.

That said, he could have gone 2 months ago and given someone else a chance to get in to it.

I read that it was 'mutual consent'. I think that normally means the manager is given his orders.

It could also be Palace wanting to save face. Unless Pulis was making unrealistic demands based on last season's performance? Maybe they wanted to get rid because he wanted too much?

How does this "mutual consent" work?

Chairman : "I think you're a crap manager, and we could get someone better."

Manager : "Yes, you're quite right, I suck. Cheerio"

It's more

'I think you should leave'

'I think I should leave, but only if you give me money'

I wish I worked somewhere where if I was rubbish at my job, they would give me bundles of cash to not work there anymore.

Indeed! Football is a world apart in so many ways. Have to keep going though - can't let all that crap ruin what is the best game out there.

This. Pulis wanted to spend £9m on Connor Wickham. Palace said no, because they know Pulis is bad with money. So he walked.

Good ownership if you ask me.
