Is the first 2015 Driver move coming?

Reports are suggesting that McLaren have their eye on Valtteri Bottas as one of the drivers they are hoping to sign in preparation for their reunion with Honda next year.

Although names like Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have been mentioned, an up-and-coming driver like Bottas will fit what Eric Boullier had in mind when saying that they want to refresh their lineup.

The same reports are also suggesting that the driver at McLaren making way will be Jenson Button. Apparently he will be moving to Williams as part of a swap deal between the two teams, meaning the 2009 World Champion will most likely be ending his F1 career at the same team as where it started back in 2000.

Interesting development, personally if I were Bottas I would stay at Williams, they look to be on the up

with the usual exception of alonso , bottas has been the driver of the season so far and obviously has been on the radar of all the teams for some time now so at this quiet time of the season the racing media with very little to write about will write about any rumour that fills a few inches of space ,

personally i always take these kind of stories with a large bucketful of salt as in this case every team not only mclaren will have bottas on there before mentioned radar -

must admit with bottas looking so impressive this year it makes perfect sense for mclaren to plan for the future and it comes as no surprise that button in all probability is not part of that future -

Think JB's dayys at McLaren are over. Dennis doe not appear to rate him which is unfair as they have given him useless cars to drive

Agreed. When McLaren actually gave him the equipment he managed 8 wins and a 2nd place in the WDC.

I don't get how Ron doesn't rate that.

If JB does move to Williams, I'm sure he'll make McLaren regret it, just like Lewis is doing at Mercedes.

Exactly, contrary to what people thought, Hamilton and Whitmarsh got on very well. It was Ron who was not prepared to keep him.

I personally would not recommend anyone goes to McLaren until we see what sort of engine Honda is bringing to the party
