According to reports this morning we are set to sign Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe on a season long loan. Ibe spent a period on loan at Birmingham last season making 11 appearances and scoring 1 goal. He is highly rated by Liverpool and is expected to slot right into our first team.

The second bit of news surrounds former Crewe striker Max Clayton. Another highly rated youngster, the 20 year old has been on trial at the likes of Wolves, Sunderland and Everton. He is a free agent having turned down Crewe's latest contract offer, but a compensation fee would need to be agreed due to age and training costs. Crewe want around £1m, however a tribunal could see that figure slashed in half.

Both players are young and have bags of potential and under another manager I would be more excited about them, but I just don't have the faith in Dougie to either give them enough game time or get the best out of them should they get it, but we'll see.

Let's hope they can play well under Big Sam in the future!! 🙏

Ibe is the future for Liverpool. He could be better than Sterling. He has the physique and power he just needs to work on his final pass/shot. His speed is incredible.

Look after him please

Got plenty of them already.

Hopefully he can be as good as the other young lads billed for big things in the past, (Sturridge and Wilshere) - both for us and the parent club.

1 goal in 11 outings doesn't sound great, although I would suspend judgement until he has played at least six games.

The problem we might have is that unless he makes an immediate impact, Dougie (the tinkerer) will probably drop him.

Doesn't matter now anyway Derby are getting Ibe so that leaves the kid from Crewe

Fook off Dougie

It will end up with the usual tale of woe on transfer deadline day. If bolton have no money they are wasting their time pursuing clayton unless dougie is waiting for the magic money tree to suddenly appear. Same with lbe. Presume liverpool want a loan fee for him so that's us out, although I do think liverpool owe us a favour after mugging us for ngog and spearing.
