Just read this mornings Arseblog and the blogger talks about the rumours that AW will listen to serious offers for the German.
Apparently Podolskis agent was quoted as saying:
"There have always been enquiries. Now we have concrete interest from some teams"
I have long been an admirer of Podolskis attitude and the sense of spirit and fun he brings to the squad, but I have never thought he was a good signing on the pitch and have been hugely disappointed with his contribution generally when he has played. I expected much more from a player capped over 100 times for Germany and he has simply not delivered. Given he is on big wages and it seems is not trusted by AW I can see him on his way this summer.
I would not be sad to see him go from a football point of view if I am honest. But this does raise the question about the left side of attack. Does Joel Campbell get the nod? Does AW sign someone for that role or use someone in the squad?
Who knows.
I would be interested in your thoughts on the player and the rumours......

I'm thinking less about the players development and more about the immediate value to a side with big aspirations. If Campbell can't start or even come on as a sub in a team lacking Ozil, Pod and Walcott and playing with 2 clowns upfront in Giroud and Sanogo, then I don't hold out much hope he'll be very useful this season.

Podolski is GUARANTEED to get us 15+ goals and 10+ assists and you lot want to sell him and replace him with who!?

I'm not so sure. He got only two assists last season, which for a player in that position is pretty poor. Yes, he chipped in with goals, but most of the time if he didn't score then he just wouldn't contribute at all.
I'd love to see Marco Reus at Arsenal, but I'm not sure it's realistic given what we've already spent.

Ive always felt that Pod suffered from having Giroud next to him slowing down everything. Pod is a fast direct player in style so a cf who slows up play (holds the ball according to some blind Giroud fan boys) does not help Pod. I would be sorry to see him go without the opportunity t prove himself with a decent, fast cf.
And the bbc gossip page bit on this says Campbell is not for sale, so why doesnt he play? I wonder if it could be fitness or something like that.
