Since we pummeled Arsenal on the weekend i've seen so many hilarious comeback attempts in a bid to justify arsenals poor poor performance. But the thing that strikes me the most is when people refer to our refubished squad as 'average'.
Now i know they dont have fancy foriegn names like 'carrollinho sanchez da silva' and i know the 4 signings are certainly not world beaters but what people dont seem to understand is that these premireship proven players were signed to 'get the job done'.
They were signed so we can defeat your stokes and blackburns on cold wednesday nights in winter when the foriegn stars usually go missing. last year we had too many draws and losses with this type of fixture - big games are not really the issue.
I read silly WUMs saying "you could have got aguero for the same price of carroll "
When in actual fact theres no way we could afford his wages and offer champions league footy ... also it's players like aguero that are not loyal servants that will try and look for a route back to spain/italy after a few years of prem footy.
To be honest, I'm tired of Liverpool signing players that use Liverpool as a stepping stone until Barcelona or Madrid come calling. Players that are brought abroad, there loyalties stay abroad. (Lets not kid ourselves here, Suarez will be gone in 3 year - i hope he can be an anomaly )
Kenny Dalgish building a British core is logically a good move. It provides stability for the cub. (Whether it will be successful or not is another story)
in the last 2 games it's clear why we signed downing enrique and adam
as for carroll and henderson, these two lads are still very young. They are far from the finished article and they will need time.
seriously lets keep this article sensible lads.

Yeh you deserved it. I got nothing but respect for pool and your history... but this article wasn't called for. Theres a long way to go.

But the truth is that Liverpool looked by far the superior side and never had to move out of 2nd gear to record a comfortable 2-0 win
----------------------------------
That game was heading straight for a draw before frimpong was sent off. Liverpool did not look by far the superior side, they looked marginally more cohesive than a completely disjointed arsenal and could only take the lead against 10 men and with the help of a dodgy linesman

Wincollgooner - is Wenger seriously not going to bring me Zarate? He's now acting even more irresponsibly than I am. (U1342)
"Gotta love the deluded Liverpool fans thinking this is their year".
Where has anyone said that?
At the end of the day we won without playing particularly well. It's the sign of a good team, or at least that's what we would be told if Arsenal won without playing well on Saturday.
Your all quick to mention the youth players you had on the pitch but quiet about the fact that you had 8 first team regulars playing.

to be honest nobody will know wether or not we would have won if frimpong wasn't sent off. i could easily argue that meireles and suarez was actually the catalyst

Powerking. I reckon most pool fans would be content with quietly enjoying our win. But if you look through the articles created, we were swamped by Arsenal and Chelsea(why?), posting amazingly bitter trash. Its pretty difficult to keep a lid on things, you've got to reply to it surely? When the rare poster has been constructive, i'm sure you'll find the pool fan being likewise. Just read through Batman's posts, that should be enough to show you what I mean

Well if that was the case, hes silly, none of us gooners should be bitter...the best we could of hoped for was a draw, you deserved your win and hopefully we will now go and buy the quality we need to mount a real challege. Its done now, we are looking to bounce back on wednesday.

How often do you see Utd and Chelsea playing average football for 70-80 minutes tghen they kill off a team when they are fading at the end of a game.
I remember going to anfield in the early 80's and the guy next to us used to leave 10 minutes before the end to miss the traffic. The amount of times he missed the winning goal was incredible.
The game lasts for 90 minutes and if you have 10 men left on the pitch then that is the managers fault for not taking off an inexperienced player that is on a yellow. I watched the game with 8 neutral fans and they were all saying get Frimpong off as he is going to get sent of as he is a hot head.
Blame wenger not Liverpool for loosing

Liverpool are basically doing what Spurs did 2 years ago. If they don't come top four in the next two years they will have to sell before they buy.

Powerking. To be honest most of us were expecting a draw, and probably would have been satisfied with one. So to get a comfortable(ish) win is a massive bonus.

its clear we cheated and got lucky by bringing Suarez and Meireles on :/ get a grip Arsenal fans..you had 7 players from ur first 11 out there and for years youd be going on and on about your amazing kids!...Liverpool were missing Gerrard and Johnson. Stop the dreadful excuses..the fault lies with your manager who sold 3 players recently that could have started for you
