Still not sure how arsenal helped us to not have to play a qualifier. Sure Arsenal helped out by getting a spot for 6th.....for Spurs

Because FA Cup winners get through to the group stage, as FA Cup winners outrank 5th.
If the FA Cup winners are in the CL then 5th get the group stage spot, the FA Cup runners up drop to the lowest ranked English representative.

Thus Arsenals win meant Everton did not have to play a qualifier.

Spurs have to thank Man City for their place.
