DEAN HOYLES BIG DECISION ..
Hi Guys .. Hope Everyones Well .. A One off from mois ..
Mark Lillis would tick many of businessman (first & foremost) D Hoyles Boxes i.e. ~ Cheap option ~ Players Respond to his Simplistic All Heart on his Scarf approach ~ Majority of Fans Luv him .. and of course Hoyle would not have the Major Headache of a New Manager demanding - OR at the very least Requesting his own Backroom Staff .. Redundancies & New Backroom Staff would cost Hoyle Money and we've seen how Lean and mean he likes to run the show ..
Lill's would also Do As He's Told (Up to a Point) which would again suit Hoyle as clearly he loves to meddle in team selection affairs ..
SO TO USE LILL'S OWN MANTRA - "ROUND PEGS ROUND HOLES"
We Can Be Confident ~ He Fits Hoyles Brief in more ways than one ..
I'm pretty certain however that some potential managers will have already walked away from the gig - OR not even applied for it at all because of the Wickidly Stifling brief Dean Hoyle Constrains & Tasks them to work within -
BUT Hey its His Money, So again its his call -
But one o these managerial appointment days The Pennys gonna have to drop with him, that in appointing YES Men He just sets he himself up for a far greater share of the ensuing headaches than He Or His Lovely Wife n Family ought to be having to bear ..
I say again, although I luv the Ears off Mark Lillis (and they are Big) as he reminds me so much of Towns beloved Gerry Murphy, I still believe an Outside Appointment would be best for all .. PROVIDING That that Man, Whoever he might be is Completely Free and Unencumbered by Lord Hoyle (sic) TO DO THE JOB Of Managing a Championship Side With Genuine Ambitions to be taken higher ..
Alas I'm not sure Dean has grasped that Stinging Nettle Message yet & we may have to be frustrated once more with some mealy mouthed Yes Sir - No Sir - Three Bags Full Mr Dean Sir - Appointee ..
These Media Managerial Mutterer's like Lee Clark .. Larry Grayson .. & Mark Robins .. (as you know) so annoy me ..
So For Gods sake, IF Nothing else ..
LETS This Time appoint an inspirational emotive speaker with a Good Gob on him ..
DEANS BIG DECISION

Can't agree more Walter, with all your comments.....
But don't you get a feeling from what he said in interviews during his last successful time in charge, he hasn't got the gut for it..
As much as we would all support him thru thick and thin, he just doesn't have the nerve...
Aye, yes Bootsy....Still just up the road from Strawberry Bridge....

I think he does myth...when he got the phone call from dean on the way home from reading saying he, d got the team for charlton he was made up
If he doesn't give it a go he eill look back in years to come with a lot of regret....he's got far more experience than most of the mansgers linked with the job...and previous like clarck..grayson..and robins
iv actively followed town 35 years now and in all my time being a fan...when one of our own has managed the club the whole town has been lifted and got behind the club
a lot can be achieved when we are all in it together...united on and off the pitch

I do wonder about Mark Lillis's Health (Purely coincidentally, the last time i bumped into him was at a Doc's Surgery in Lindley) and whilst I've absolutely No Idea as to his Medical Condition he does strike me (looking at him) as a person perhaps with questions to answer in that area ..
Any run of negative results would, I feel sure, Deeply Affect him and is he thick skinned enough to handle such levels of STRESS - Lets face it Many Men Would Crumble at the Downsides of - Football Management and I don't doubt some have Ferocious Migraines and Drop in & out of Depression ..
Let us presume Dean Hoyle and Mark Lillis have come to know each others Strengths and Weaknesses and therein may lay the answer to any impending decision for the pair of em ..
I've said it before .. and I'll say it again .. I Still favour an Outside Appointment Notwithstanding That any such Outsider has Either -
The Bottle or Guile to Win our Owners Confidence and be allowed to manage without too much interference .. and a reasoned budget to facilitate a couple of strong signings .. Though Time becomes ever tighter for that ~ Another known faintly annoying ploy of Deans ..

Hey JK, good to see you on here!
I like all am a hugh fan of Lillis and also agree that as much as I would like him to be our manager I think its better he isnt. He is doing such a good job overseeing our Academy which is going from strength to strength and he is happy in what he does. Becomming manager takes its toll and only a few managers in the history of football have not been sacked and Lillis knows this.
I want him shaping our future and would like him to have an input into the first team but I want him at Town for as long as he wants to be here so whatever he wants is fine with me. What I love is the return of passion and when you see someone care as much as Lillis does it does make you go a bit Dead Poets Society and stand on my seat shouting "O Captain! My Captain!"

Cheers MBWB & I'm with you all the way on that fascinating foresight ..
I see Billy Mackinlay now enters the frame .. A Fiery Scot .. ???????
What do I know ..
Only that at this rate Dean will be scouring Our District League for Potential Managers next .. lol ..

Aye up Boots, where's tha been?
The temperature is definately rising in the Hoyle kitchen and he doesn't like it.....good.
Dean says 'the next manager who comes in will be this boards choice'
So who picked the last 3 managers?
Dean goes on 'and if Town supporters don't get behind the next manager it will tell me a lot about the way I need to take the club forward'
I don't know about anyone else but I definitely backed Clarke and Robins, I wasn't keen on Grayson but never verbally abused him at games...besides I back the club every season by buying a season card/shirts/programmes. If the manager is pee poor I have the right to voice my opinion, I spend about 25% of my wage on following HTAFC, ok it's not near Deans £30million but then again my wages aren't exactly astronomical.
And as for us owning a share in our own ground, has Dean forgotten that the fans helped play a major part in putting pressure on KSDL and Davy to get said returns back

Wakey.
If you're contributing 25% of your income towards Town,
You're way way ahead of any contribution Olive Oil has put in so far. percentage wise
(as is every other Town fan)
As for 'htfc-inc' Come on ! Who's it to be ?

Well Said Wakey .. Few have the inside track like you do .. and even fewer Commit & Spend on the back of Town like you have done & still do ..
We have to hope that Sweet Talking (to the fans) Dean will come to learn that The Football Business requires a different set of sentiments to Normal Commercial Company business and that his natural Money Making instincts will have to be compromised to a degree IF he is to more successfully follow his avowed passion ..
As to 30 Million Loss (I DON'T BUY THAT FOR A MINUTE) There's many a slip twixt cup and lip and sharp cynic Mirfielder will no doubt have have a 'take' on that supposed claim ..
CREATIVE ACCOUNTANCY offers a route and though Clibbens has never inspired me (in fact he's never done owt for me) didn't he once wriggle out of a driving ban .. lol .. Bodes well for worming his way round the revenue ..
All that being said I saw little wrong about the good business of selling Norwood & Clayton for a reported Million and a bit Plus when just one yrs contract to run ..
Always assuming the replacements at a level we need are forthcoming Majiewski seems a busy player .. I need to see more of Coady - and if Sat Last was anything to go by Butts Passing left a lot to be desired
Btw I can't remember if Pelts became a Sick Note Player for us last time around .. Hope thats not what we're now beginning to see again already
Yep nice to re-aquaint Wakey and glad to see alls well with you n co ..
