Tuesday sees another break from the rigours of Championship football as Town take on Forest in the League Cup.
Kick off is 7:45pm and admission is just £15 Adults and £10 for us OAP's...Under 18's get in for £5 .
The Kilner Bank Stand and the FM Upper are closed for this game..so for home fans it's the posh seats or the FML with the NSL's ...
Forest have started well this season and sit proudly atop the table with 3 wins and a draw in the league.
In the 1st round Forest beat Tranmere away 1-0, while Town had a dramatic victory at Chesterfield...coming back from 1-3 at 84 minutes to win 5-3 after extra time...
Forest only made 4 changes in their team against Tranmere, so i expect them to bring a strong side to the JSS. They were also supported by 845 fans that night, so again I expect a healthy away support which should create a decent atmosphere. ..some may even stop over in God's Own as they play at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday...
We also see the return (again) of Jack Hunt, who has played all 5 games and is the top 'goals assistor' so far this season...in addition ex Peterbro' £5m signing Assombalonga, their leading goalscorer already with 4 goals may be included.
Manager Stuart Pearce will no doubt have one eye on Saturday's game, let's hope...but so too will Mark (give him the job) Lillis. With Wallace presumably suspended we have a minor crisis at the back with Gerrard also out , injured. Lillis may give some of the young 'uns a go..but with 7 more of the top Premier League teams in the hat for the 3rd round Dean will be hoping we don't flunk it like we did in the FA Cup last season and miss out on some lucrative fixtures.
All we can hope for I guess is we don't have a ref like the ridiculous Tim Robinson who officiated in the most horrendous way on Saturday and incurred the wrath of fans, players and manager alike. .
So, relax and enjoy the game at the discounted prices...I just hope more than 10,000 don't turn up otherwise there'll be no room for everybody !!

Good stuff Jack.
I thought you'd dropped off the radar there.
Into the 70's (minutes) & still 0-0 I'd have been thinking 'we can nick this'..then Boots reveals the home goal...
Bug argh.
Was that tongue in cheek that he 'meant it' JK ?
Or are you fair dinkum !

100 Million % Darn .. He was SOooo Exhuberant to be on that Pitch .. He's SOOoooooooooooo Goal Focused and he just saw the open Net Yawning and Natural Instinct took over .. No one challenged him and one day in his book he will write ..
"Forgive me for I knew not (quite) what I did" ..
What in fact he did do was to Jump High .. Arch his neck and strike it firm n true downwards into the net .. a real Beauty ..
BE NOT AFRAID OR SICKENED, BUT REJOICE .. For It Truly Proves He's Lost Nothing and if his legs hold out he'll be our Top Scorer once more this Season .. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt make the game last night and only saw the commentary on the BBC and on here (including the Forrest thread). I am not surprised they beat us and the scoreline could have been a lot worse by recent seasons standards. Im gutted for Vaughan as these things can knock confidence and everyone can make a mistake so let him off this one.
Saturday is far more important to us now, got to really go for it.

I didn't bother either, you just knew Forest would win despite making 7 changes from the weekend.
How did I know we wouldn't win?
Well I've been banging on about the first XI needing to be strengthened, and I don't think it's any stronger than last season. I've also been banging on about how the squad needs to be strengthened and that is certainly weaker than last season.
6players were signed in the summer, 10 left.
We've made a profit on transfers and cut the wage bill...that tells me we were always going to struggle this season along with the lack of investment in the right areas....namely central defence.

Well lets be clear about something .. Until HumpaLumpa Came on followed soon after by Matty Fryatt - We MORE Than Gave them a Game ..
I'd say we were edging it all the way up to Vs decision to cash in at the bookies with his - Who would score 1st goal accumulator (o k a Grimois fairy tale, hey wa appen to him ?) and in fact we were evens favourites to WIN which tbfair is what Gary Birtles Bro (Sat next to me) Indicated right up to that goal ..
EVERY Town Player on that Pitch (apart from Bunn who was clearly tired) Gave their All and Fought the Good Fight in Spirited fashion .. There was some Fine Enjoyable Free Flowing Football too and I felt I got my moneys worth ..
I Like Lillys Style of Play and Hammil tried his best to impress upon Lills that his All Action Performance ought to be getting him the nod more often ..
Tbh guys we're not a bad side .. We can do this shi- We could definitely Go On quite a Tidy Point Picking Up Run .. I Believe Mr Lillis has shown us a way ..

I Lay the blame firmly at Murphys door .. Clearly Vaughan didn't recognise the newcomer and gave it all he'd got ..
Be water under the bridge after next Sat at Watford though ..
I'd expect us ~ Based on our last two showings to wipe the floor with the Gap lads ..
