So with world class attacking players left, right and centre at Utd who will be dropped? Di Maria will be a starter and Rooney probably will be too, captain and all that. I can see Adnan having a good role this season, either at the tip of a midfield 3 or on the wing if we are playing 433. RVP if fit probably will start if we are playing 352. If we stick to 352, Di Maria will probably play where Mata is now and RVP and Rooney will start. If we move to 433, will rooney be moved to the left or is that over simplistic with players switching positions?
My favoured team would be:
.....Di Maria...RVP....Adnan
..................Mata......
....................herrera
..New midfielder: De Jong
Shaw....Rojo...Evans....Rafael.
...................De Gea
This team for me could get us top 4.
Who is going to be dropped?

But he was injured for much of last season and rarely got fully fit, even then he still had the best goal to minutes ratio of any player at United.
The season before he was pure class.

I could see one of Rooney / RVP playing as an inside forward. Or even Mata taking that role and Rooney playing deeper. Lots of interchanging of positions.

I would drop him because he is on the periphery of far too many games. Why would people drop Mata when since he's sugned, he's been our most productive player?

DiMaria
I'm sure he can but when the manager public ally stated the club lack world class wingers of the calibre of Ronaldo and di Maria and the a week later he buys him you would think he would play him as a winger wouldn't you?
Why the hell would be but another #10 when LVG has also public ally stated we have too many?
Use you're brain.

I guarantee you if everyone is fit, we will see this:
............Rooney..........Rvp.
......................Di Maria.
...........Herrara...Carrick/new player
..Shaw......Rojo...Evans..Jones..Rafael
..........................De Gea
--------------------------------------------------------------------
You guarantee it?
That team wouldn't do much better than the current one. There's no balance to it at all.
3-5-2 is shiiiiiite. I am sticking by that claim.
4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 suits this groups of players far more.

I never said I'd drop Mata.
I actually said of anyone I could see RVP being dropped even though he is personally my preferred striker.

Wasn't aimed at you personally, sorry. Just my personal opinion that Mata seems to be getting unfairly criticised when he at least contributes positively, unlike so many of his team mates

Thing is I really can't seeing LVG dropping any of our big 3 as he does seem to like them. So I can see the likelihood of him moving either Rooney or mata wide. They both can do a job their but they are both clearly better centrally.
I just find it frustrating as it's the same problems and we look like continuing to ignore them. LVG needs to at least try and see If all 3 can work but if they don't then I hope he can be ruthless enough to drop one if he needs to.

The thing is, we will never see all 4 play together week in week out. Simply because our players get injured too often. It's important we have quality to replace quality. RVP is injury prone, he will likely face a lay off. So it should be fine.

For me it would be rooney who gets dropped. He's nowhere near RVP standard of finishing, mata is a better provider/playmaker/created, and rooney slows us down. He can't beat a man, rarely steps up and looks to be in decline. Still a quality player, but when you compare his attributes against the other 2, they beat him where it counts. And as adm has oodles more pace, he's straight into the team. So rooney misses out in my book.
