So i thought i'd combine my trip to Watford with a few days in London over the BH Weekend, had a nosey at Notting Hill Carnival and all that...not really my scene but was decent, there was loads of trouble when someone got stabbed i think.
Anyway, the football...I wasnt very optimistic after the Brighton performance but was pleasently suprised by our first half effort. I didnt think Watford had done much at all but took the lead about 15/20mins in.
I thought heads could drop but we got the total opposite response and we pushed on, controlled the game and fully deserved the equaliser, unlucky for Watford the manner in which we did equalise, but deserved none the less...good work by Billy Sharp to get the cross in.
Bellusci looked solid, a bit rash in his decision making maybe...silly mistake followed by a silly tackle...i didnt have a great view of it in the ground and havent seen highlights yet but the people round me didnt really complain much and from what i could see i couldnt really complain either!
So 2-1 down, 10 men....Sharp come off replaced by Cooper...personally id have hauled Murphy off...probably at half time but he took off 1 of our stike options....that didnt go down too well with....well anyone in the Leeds end really!!!
Their 3rd goal...stunk of bad defending to me...he waltzed past 3 or 4 of our defenders like they were kids...he should have been buried by at least 1 of them, silly stuff costing us big time! Made him look like Messi.
4th goal looked decent, just weak in the build up...stupid foul by Austin 25/30yrd, looked tired by that point...but it wasnt his worst game really...when compared to previous weeks.
Didnt look like Byram did anything to that little tuppence who went down from an "elbow" but again, seen no highlights yet so cant comment on seeing it from better angles.
Positives - Fans were awesome, first half we were pretty dominant, improved midfield (not Murphy)
Negatives - Too many kid level mistakes, Hocks subs, Murphy, Londons prices, bad lager, too many cockneys

Good to hear it wasn't all bad.
I think we are developing but results don't show it yet.

Murphy seems to be consistently poor even after a season at this level...

First half certainly had positives.
Murphy just seemed to be following the ball, not a proactive bone in his body on Saturday....reacting to things rather than, spotting potential danger, or a potential interception, or a potential break or seeing things 2 or 3 passes before they happen...like you try to teach young footballers, especially central midfielders.
Ive defended him plenty in the past, looked like he could have potential...but i dont see it now...could become a scapegoat in weeks to come if he doesnt improve a lot!!!

It's not as if we are short of options in central mid.
I expect he will be on the bench soon enough.

I'd like to think so mate, hopefully getting dropped could give him a much needed kick up the jacksy!
Tonge is good in spells and can pass 5yrds to a team mate....but he's so slow and not nearly creative enough.
Hopefully this Sloth kid is going to steady the ship!!!

Do you think we now have a surplus of midfield players...?
