Di Maria vs Sanchez

Pretty simple really. Who does everyone think the better player is, and which of them do you think will have a better first season adapting to the Premier League?

And some fans who have seen his performances for Chile and Udinese will know that Sanchez was stifled by the possession-obsession, Messi-centric Barcelona system.

Yeah he was stifled by the system and Messi...

He was...that video changes nothing, as Dubbed has already pointed out.

^BTW, Di Maria lost possession 51 times in the match against Switzerland at the World Cup. I'm sure someone could make a bloopers video of that if you'd like.

Ok fine,

Alexis Sanchez is a world class player who will churn out top performances week after week, month after month, season after season. Hitting twenty goals and 10 – 15 assists is the norm for him.

Because he is so good and now plays for Arsenal he will be completely immune from criticism for being terrible for 2/3 of his Barca career, scoring 3 goals in 24 champions league game over three seasons and also only managing to score 2 league goals away from the Nou Camp during last season (his only good season).

Every sitter he missed, every time he miss controlled the ball, every time he gave the ball away or slipped at the vital moment was all the fault of the way Barca play.

Arsenal are lucky that they have signed a player who was so ineffective playing for a team who like to look after the ball, move it quickly, pass it along the deck, do little one twos and play a nice attacking brand of football. They are also so lucky that no one will sit deep against them and deny their quick players like Walcott, Sanchez and Ox space in behind, it is also good that your fb’s will not push forward because he really doesn’t know where to go when they do that.

Its fortunate that Arsenal are purely a counter attacking side and don’t have any other way of playing so they will play right in to Alexis's strengths.

Is this guy still bleating on?
Sanchez was sooo bad he was your second best player after Messi.
You'd probably say the same thing about Neymar if he was to leave.

Ah fair enough when I first read your comment I looked on whoscored which I didn't think correlated but after looking again I think it has taken into account passes, shots and crosses whereas I only initially looked at the dispossessions and turnovers.

Yeah - I think the above stat refers to a broader definition of losing possession
