No excuse...

https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside-europe/revealed-man-utd-most-expensive-squad-ever-101231884.html

Interesting set of facts in this article. It seems United really have no excuse for failure.

Amazingly, if you remove the additional £20m added to Anderson/Nani fees & remove the ADM fee (as he wasn't our player for the first 2 games) we suddenly drop to 4th....

The OP seems to have posted a WUM article & legged it... oh well at least it gave us a break from the transfer talk for half an hour.

Actually if you look at the net spend we are still hundreds of millions off the likes of City and Chelsea in the spending stakes.

Using squad value as a guide for how much has been spent is a fairly stupid idea... Given that United could sell on Fellaini for £1M replace with a £20M pound player and it looks like we have spent less...

Whilst the net spend figures would give the true reflection as to what actually happened.

But that wouldn't work as it's a United bashing article

lol I saw that figure of total squad cost on another article. They haven't even got the cost of a lot of the players even near. Firstly Rooney cost more, Nani and Anderson were far less, Shaw to was less.

£50m of talent loaned out for 2 years. He was your lucky charm in europe earning the corner for frogbas equaliser and I believe Ivanovic winner all assisted by Mata.
