Blind confirmed

I'm surprised by how many were underwhelmed by Blind at the WC. He was one of the Dutch players who impressed me most. Proactive, industrious, always head up looking for the pass, seemed an intelligent player in the Dutch tradition.

I thought his passing, tactical intelligence, stamina and discipline were excellent.

Have to qualify that by stating I've never seen him other than in the WC.

I think the good thing about this transfer is that LvG will have a very good idea on just how good he is and whether he is to the standards we require having managed him at Holland.

None of us seem to know how good he actually is in midfield where he regularly plays. He's a captain, has good stamina and work rate and not a bad range of passing, could be very useful for us, and now we've definitely not got any shortage of LB/LWBs.

Nah, O'shea was ahead of his time. Hollywood cross field pass, Where you think Rooney picked that up from?.

He's a lot lot lot lot more composed on the ball than O'Shea ever was. Unfair comparison.

He was also named Erdivise player of year last year too apparently.
