Capital One pricing !!

Having got past QPR in the last round of the competition just wondered what you guys thought of the prices for the game against Brighton.
I would have thought Ben would have looked at reducing the prices to £10 for adults and £5 for OAPs and children say £2 in light of only getting 4000 for the QPR match which turned out to be a cracking game.
I sometimes question the logic of our football club on trying to get the Burton public interested in coming to games.
Dont get me wrong all of us would go anyway but to fill the stadium as much as possible adds to lifting the players and makes them strive for a good result.
Thoughts please Guys.

Agree, that would encourage more people to turn up, more food/merchandise/program sales.
Plus they may want to come again!

I don't think reduced pricing would make any difference. I just don't think the Burton public have much of an appetite for the football club which has been proved time and time again.

The biggest example is our day at Wembley. I am still embarrassed by the poor attendance on the day from our fans. Let's be honest, if they didn't go to that then knocking a few quid off a game against Brighton isn't going to have an impact.

We are top of the table now. I bet that if we stayed top all season right through to the very last game we would not get above 3,500 very often.

With all due respect Otep i dont think we can compare the Wembley game to the Capital one cup.
I wasnt surprised at the turn out at the play off final because that was a very expensive day out to a lot of families and we shouldnt grumble at the amount that did turn out.
We can feel very lucky we can afford these trips out to watch our team alot cant and i respect that.
I think reducing the pricing for a home cup tie of this nature would bring in more folk and lets be honest at a fraction of the cost that a trip to London would cost.

With regards the Wembley game Mr Emnez, there was a precedent in my mind. That benchmark was the fact that we took 11,000 to Old Trafford in the FA Cup 3rd round. In my own mind I figured that the really big occasion did bring the fans out. Not Wigan, QPR or Brighton but the genuinely big occasion.

I have concluded that we probably lost a lot of support that long weekend because of Derby being there aswell. It was a ridiculously expensive game that's for sure and if you support both the Rams and the Brewers I can understand money being channelled towards the Rams game.

Yes my friend folk would lean towards the Rams but we must not stop trying to pull more fans in to watch our team, but point taken.

Both teams have to agree the ticket prices for Capital One cup games. The following extract has been taken from the rules of the competition
" Immediately after the draw is known the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices. All questions in dispute must be immediately referred to the Management Committee for settlement."
As far as I can see Brighton's normal adult prices start at £25 so in the circumstances the agreed prices do seem reasonable.

Not sure they will bring many up midweek as they didn't take many away last round.
Derby being at home the night before won't help & the kids are back at school.
If it was £5 I still don't think we would get more than 4000
One of my pet hates now, maybe the club should start advertising the games outside the ground instead of wedding fairs.
Nearly every other football club in the lower leagues advertises except us.
