Cleverley's wage demands

Aston Villa are still working hard to land Cleverley before the transfer window closes, but the move may be dead in the water. Villa had a £8m bid accepted by Manchester United, but needed to agree personal terms with Tom before the deadline. Now, it seems the Manchester United midfielder wants £60,000 per week in wages, a sum Villa are reluctant to pay.

Surely we could throw in Young as a sweetener, bet Villa would welcome him back with open arms. Two birds one stone!

£60k a week for an average to good footballer.

This sums up everything that is wrong with the game at the moment.

Greedy pushy agent, young player who thinks he is worth more than he is. bad combination.

i think he is overpriced but will improve us. i was saying to a friend of mine a guy who used to light up villa park in ashley young is now struggling at utd so it's always tough there but at villa he won't be under the same amount of pressure and players won't be as harassed on the ball and under pressure like at utd.

I don't get why this little press titbit is classed as gospel?

Maybe he is just weighing up various offers that are coming in over the day rather than signing the first contract that arrives?

Is it that hard to believe? Like I said, see how the day pans out, I very much doubt he will be a UTD player by the end of the day.

Just waht we need... another article to spit bile at one of our own.

Just see how the day pans out before giving the guy stick about something that might not be true.

"Bile"? Don't overreact Since 2011 I've not seen anything to convince me Young is United quality. And yes, I would like to see him moved on. As for Tom, tidy little player but it's not as if he has the influence to turn a game or even control it from the middle.
