Cesc

Wenger would have gone a long way to have saved some credibility for himself and the club if he would have signed Fabregas.

Lets be honest, Sanchez, Cesc both bought would have made most of us happy.

Lets look at it this way - Is Cesc better than the following..

Wilshire - Yes
Cazorla - Yes
Ozil - Yes
Rosicky - Yes
Ramsey - Yes

If hes better then all these then we should have signed him.

even for me, I could have let the Cesc signing go (just) because I thought a very good DM and Striker was coming in to the club which was more important but so far it aint happening. so that makes the Cesc non signing even more bitter for me.

"More specifically, I can imagine the likes of Fabregas, Cazorla, Ozil, Ramsey, and Wilshere all want first-team assurances"
=================================

Dogg, frankly who cares what they want, Fabregas is a better player - with the exception of Aaron & Jack (& that's just regarding potential) that is the reality.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally don't rate him more highly than Ozil or Cazorla, and I strongly believe both of these players are struggling because of the imbalanced system we have and the lack of movement in front - something which would also stifle the creativity of Fabregas, whose key attribute is his through-ball passing. Even if you do rate him slightly more than these two, surely you accept that it's not worth spending ~£30m for a marginal improvement in one position when there are so many other areas in dire need of improvement?
I would obviously prefer Fabregas to no-one, but I would rather we spent the money elsewhere first....which, as I say, unfortunately may not happen either.

Cereal, I agree - we should be spending the money elsewhere.

That shows how silly and irrational you this board is:we dont need a player in Cesc's position so why would you have been happy. Literally just signing for the sake of signing.

Showing ambition is it called now after we paid off our stadium and was promised we can compete with the big boys.

Would be a statement for everyone that Arsenal is back on the big stage.

Not even replacing Vermaelen as it seems is suicide and our season is done knowing our luck with injuries.

i don't know what game they are up to, maybe they are both more turned on in financial management.

they are both smug and that's an insult.

the fact Mourinho put aside all his bitter feud with Cesc/Barca just to sign him tells me one thing, one way or another, Wenger will be in Mourinho's pocket till the old man retires.

Get ready for another thumping at the bridge, and possibly at ours as well lads

Well Dogg if you think that then I completely understand your thoughts, but I totally disagree with your assessment - I've sat in the North Bank and watched all of them and for me the gap in ability is significant.
Will Ozil improve ? Maybe, maybe not...
