James Simpson-Daniel has been forced to retire from the game after 14 years of blistering pace and skill on show at Kingsholm and 118 tries in 272 games. Not just talented but humble, loyal and honest. Some of our young talent could learn a lot from his career.
Injuries prevented him from being an England legend but let's just enjoy this moment of skill:

SantnPepa, HeavyD up in the limosine! One of my favourite albums that
Shame about JSD but he had a great career, possibly one of the few that got away for England.

Always remember the report:
"Simpson went one way Daniel went the other and the defender was left tackling the hyphen"
Great shame he always seemed to break before tournaments he was a superb player.

Yeah, I think that period of management up to the arrival of Stuart Lancaster focussed too often on might rather than guile and that led to players like JSD often unable to make a contribution to England in that period
Sad he's retired relatively young-ish and perhaps without making the impact he might have
What are your thoughts on an exciting season ahead - if any of you have Sky have you been watching the Top 14 games - I have to say its rather un French rugby - I' not sure what Blanco, Sella, Lescabora etc would make of it

My abiding memory of the fella was from the LV Cup Final at Worcester a few years ago, Saints v Gloucester. Tiny found himself with the ball in space on the Saints 22 and took off. The big man could shift when he got a steam up, but he was never going to go the length of the pitch, though no-one laid a finger on him until he got to the Glaws 22 when Sinbad jumped, horizontal, across his shoulders and brought him down like a tree.
Great player, great character who you always had to keep a close eye on. Anything could happen when he got the ball. The game will miss him.

Hey SARS!
Yeah I watch a bit of the top14 too, hardly a shock that it isn't a "French" style league though when they have so many foreigners in there.
Looking forward to the Prem more though, and of course the big three all visit HQ this AI. BOD joining BT sport will be great too.

Do you have BT sport - whats it like? I think that will be good both for BT Sport and for O'Driscoll career wise. He seems unafraid to voice his opinions from what I've seen on the BBC and in magazine articles so that could be interesting

Yeah I love BT sport (well for rugby anyway), the banter is great and <3 Austin! BOD should be a quality addition this year.
