The continued transfer related negligence seen at Arsenal is not by accident my fellow Gunners!
I patiently waited until the transfer window closed before commenting on our present state of affairs, which has been on the whole...shocking. We are now entering the season with TWO senior centre backs, NO DM, and Danny....good luck to him (but we ALL know he was never on the radar of Arsene until, well, a panicked last two day or so scramble.
That whole striker situation has been one of pure negligence, as much as I don't rate Giroud, my problem wasn't with him per se, it was with the fact that we were one Giroud injury away from SANOGO starting! so said, so done!
Shambles
We know see with the defenders the SAME situation potentially shaping up again, our manager has sat and allowed us to be one Mert or Kos injury away, from a 19 year old still learning his trade.....starting! Shambles!
Don't be confused, on the "corporate" side we we are being EXCELLENTLY run...on the footballing side?
Arsene continually gets away with his negligence and complete risk aversion in a way no other top level side in world football would tolerate because our objective is FOURTH PLACE!! There is zero accountability, zero pressure to challenge for the title, because like my header states we are being run like a "soccer" franchise by the yank.Profit FIRST, success SECOND...and at that Arsene has become quite the master
In closing we need a REGIME change at Arsenal until we begin to see meaningful change in the way we do business on the field...theirs is a match made in corporate heaven (an owner who won't spend,a GM who is totally spineless, a manager who is stubborn and won't spend adequately and a board....well, the less said about that lot the better!)
Are We A Yankee "Soccer" Franchise?

The whole Balotelli sitaution sums up my frustartion with the present set up! I find him a touch over rated BUT he is/was COMFORTABLY better than our striking options....and at 16 Million there was practically zero risk involved! We clearly had first dibs on him...we did nothing

Putting the transfer window aside I fail to understand why KSE would be content for us to modestly plod along without aspiration of success.
To what end?
Success (or failure) on the field has a direct impact on the revenue streams off it.

Nothing wrong with soccer
I think you will be surprised by Wellbeck and it'll turn out to be a shrewd signing. A young man emerging from the shadows of his boyhood club with everything to prove... Arsene will show him the way
soccer?lol.
