He Who Dares Boo!

This booing of ex players needs addressing.

If I had my way, the day a player walks out of the Arsenal door of his own accord, he deserves everything coming to him.

However that then includes incredible servants such as Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie and Bacary Sagna.
None were pushed - they all took a final payday.
Do I begrudge them that?
It depends.

1. Thierry - Ok
2. Patrick - Ok
3. Cesc - What was he thinking choosing Chelsea? He will be made to cry.
4. Robin - Ok
5. Sagna - He really should have stayed one more season. But I will neither boo nor applaud.

I will leave cheap sl*ts such as Nasri out of this debate.
And by the way, in my book Matthieu Flamini has only just been forgiven for his insolence.

If in doubt silence is the best medicine!

Maybe, but when he goes to collect his Premier League winners medal in May I can't imagine him being too bothered

I forgot titles were won in September, ok Arsenal won't be winning it, but to write off City especially already?

Football fans in general seem to expect more loyalty than is reasonable, in my view.

These guys are typically brought up in another country and move to your club to further their career.

Sure, they develop an affiliation with the club and the fans.

But the idea that players won't seek to move on when the time is right for them, rather than when the time is right for the club, is crazy.

Would any of us pass up the opportunities to further our careers, just because we've worked at the same company for 5 years?

I honestly don't understand it.

Fans expect loyalty then boo a player when he is in bad form... or celebrate when they are sold.

football fans are and always have been fickle as you like.

Way to tar everyone with the same brush...

More appropriately, there will always be fickle football fans and you can find them supporting the Arsenal... unyil they don't

Really though, if it helps keep your blood pressure down feel free to hurl a boo Cesc's way. It did a number on Ashley so who knows...

a Chelsea fan trying to take some morale high ground?

you have just as many fickle fans as any other club in the world. I work with two of them so i know.
