I didn't think a friendly against Oman, the worst team I've ever personally seen at the Aviva, five days before a qualifier, could be any more meaningless than as described above, but O'Neill's team selection made it just that.
Why bother putting on that snoozefest if it wasn't even going to be a warm up for some, if not all of the lads that'll start against Georgia on Sunday? Out of the XI that started last night, I'd say 2 of them at most will start on Sunday.
If it's a case that he didn't want any of his starting XI getting injured before Sunday, then what was the point of arranging the game at all?
What was the point?

Where was Andy Reid last night? he was in the initial squad announced didnt hear of any injury very conspicuous by his absence
Was over the moon upon his recall to the set up, really hope he hasnt been cut as he is as good as if not better than what we have in midfield and still has more to give.

I think Reid needed injections to get through his games with Forest, so I'm sure they didnt want to take a chance. Unlike Trapp, I dont think O'Neil has much beef with any player.......yet.
Didnt see the Oman game, but these games are always useless. At least he got a look at Pearce and Keogh, and even Meyler at full back (not much cover there).
Let's hope for a scrappy 1-0 win on Sunday (I dont think we can wish for much more). Will also be interesting to see how Scotland get on against Germany.
