The Yes Campaign's Biggest threat?

http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=273179

I honestly think the outcome will be decided by the simple minded portion of Rangers support.

And I'd have no problem with that if they came to their decision on something more than the fact that Rangers football club is so historically steeped in the union and it would ruin their sing songs.

This isn't meant as a dig at Rangers because I know plenty of stupid Celtic(although I don't think in anywhere close to the same numbers) fans will have automatically aligned themselves on the Yes side in the spirt of anti Rangers.

It just bugs me that something so important could come down to such petty things.

The debt is the UKs. They have taken responsibility for it. If we aren't part of the UK, unless we agree to take on our share, the whole debt will remain as a UK debt.

That's a fact

Just noticed this comment....

Could we break up into England, Northern Ireland and Wales as well and all refuse to pay the debt as it is the UK's?

Theoretically Yes.

If NI and Wales declared independence and the rest of the UK (England) refuse them a currency union then they are kicked out of the UK's bank and as such have no liability to that banks debt.

However Wales is not technically a country so not sure on their ability to declare independence.

So it's only the refusal of a currency union that allows Scotland to walk away without debt?

I got to be honest it comes across as "let us use the pound otherwise we refuse to pay!"
