Sturridge Injury Preventable- Rodgers

Apologies if you've already seen this but I have just seen it posted on the BBC live text.

Brendan Rodgers says Daniel Sturridge could be out for 'up to three weeks' with a thigh injury, while Emre Can could be absent for six weeks because of an ankle injury picked up on international duty with the Germany Under-21s.
Sturridge's injury happened while he was away with England, and Rodgers says: "With Daniel, it would have been a recovery day [if he was at Liverpool]. It is individualised here and for him to pick up a thigh injury when he did was disappointing for us.
"I speak regularly with [England manager] Roy [Hodgson], but he is probably being led by some of the sports science people around him and for whatever reason Dan was deemed able to train."

Knowing Daniel Sturridge well, you can't throw a blanket over them all and think one recovery fits everyone. It is about the individual.
"Hopefully we can communicate more in the future. We certainly feel it [the injury] could have been prevented."

Rodgers is clearly not happy. Can we have some sympathy with hodgson given the short length of time he has to train with the players and is brendan angry and just looking for someone to blame, or was hodgson reckless?
Gutted about Can as well was really looking forward to seeing him play
