Somewhat misleadingly, the BBC seem to imply Swindon owned him prior to us. Standards are slipping at BBC Sport. Barely an article goes by without an error of some kind.

Anyway, the important thing is, he's ours for a while yet.

I'm happy with this: great player for us, the focal point of the side and the only concern is he's made himself practically irreplaceable for us, which was a bit selfish.

I want to be optimistic about the core of the club signing long term deals, but sinically is the club not really saying: We will increase your salary for a longer term and then if it does not work out this season and you want to leave, we will get more for you, and you will be able to command an even higher salary.

How dare he be the lynchpin of our offensive efforts!

t-o-w-I-u : isn't that what all football is about?! Loyalty exists only with fans, clubs and players spend their time positioning and posturing to cover their respective derrieres.

Here's to Wiltshire's finest!

There's only one Chrissy Martin.

Well we would’ve been left feeling Yellow had he not signed, but now we’re in Paradise. Clocks were ticking, this deal took a while to thrash out. It certainly wasn't concluded at the Speed of Sound, but he never meant to cause us Trouble.

In my view Chris Martin is the modern day Kevin Hector and that is one hell of an accolade. Three cheers for Chris Martin. HIP HIP----------

I'm reminded of an interview I once heard with Chris Martin (from Coldplay, not our Chris). He was describing how middle class his family was. He told how his father was asked at a dinner party what his two sons did for a living. "One is a merchant banker and the other is an international rock star" he replied. The other guest responded "really? That's so interesting! Which bank?"
