To Stoke and back

So tomorrow is the first League game at The Britannia since the dreadful rain soaked day in May 2008.

I was interviewed (almost, but not quite in tears) by Sky Sports Rob Dorsett live on air as I walked away from the stadium that day and I honestly never thought it'd turn out to be the best things that could of happened to us.

Two storming league titles and two play-off false alarms later and we are back at the Britannia. Not only that but we're back in the Premier league.

Today a book was launched about the history of LCFC, tomorrow the next chapter begins....

We have only conceded 4 goals against, well you know who.We have got two valuable points against quality teams,But and i know its not a popluar comment but i believe our real season starts tommorow.
I want a win but a point at Stoke will mena we only need another 37 points.

As for changes Ferryboy your man Nigel does not change teams often so its so i don't expect many changes so apart from DD nothing else.

I would like Vardy to start for Nug but that ain't going to happen.

EMA Blue its surely much to early in the season for that!

be very happy driving back down the A50 with a point but you're right Merseyside, a win would really announce ourselves.

I felt before the season started that we could go to Palace at the end of the month with 0 points and it not be a surprise or a disaster so I feel we've already done well.

Just hope that people lay off the criticism if we do lose tomo. Stoke are a good side.

I remember that afternoon so well - I did cry! I'd just been made redundant, City was relegated and my father would pass away a few months later. 2008 was not a good year!
I would so so love us to beat them but I think it'll be a tough game & we'll be lucky with a point. Fingers & everything else crossed though (& I'd love to see Cambiasso start - still can't believe that!!).

Talk about things coming in 3's! Hope things are better for you now.

You're right about Cambiasso, can't believe it myself even now! There will be some scenes if he gets the winner!

I'll predict a 2-2 draw on this one.

Well, as I predicted (all being at the start of the game) a more defensive lineup including DD and Cambiasso proved the magic formula to my 0-1 hope of victory.

Absolutely cracking 3 points today, even if we were outplayed in the first half.

I was worried when Hamer was starting and he did nothing to calm the nerves in the first 85 minutes although he did make a couple of cracking saves to ensure the win.

I will be pleased when Kasper is back though - hopefully sooner rather than later.

Cambiasso oozed class and his vision, passing and control helped us get back in to it second half. It was great to see him celebrating with the other players at the end - he looks like a cracking signing. I love him already.

And Ulloa - proving the doubters (I include myself in that by the way) wrong. What a great start to his prem career.

Great result with victory dug out. We'll play better than that an continue to pick up results I'm sure.

A happy fox
