Encouraging start to the season

It sounds like we played very well today, but shot ourselves in the foot late on. This is annoying, but personally I'm more interested in how the style of play is being implemented under Poch.

So far so good in my book. The West Ham game was a bit of a scrap given we had ten men for the majority of it, but we showed heart to get the win. We totally blew QPR away with a great display, got outclassed by a top quality Liverpool side and today were unlucky not to take three points off of Sunderland.

I like the way the pressing style is being imposed and we're prepared to play from the back. The likes of Chadli and Lamela appear to be flourishing in the new system and we are capable of dominating matches again.

Really looking forward to next week. I think we're going to see some good football this year, and even though the results may not always come we will be entertained again

no you don't, assuming that the rest of the unit was doing their job.

the whole episode of play that led to us conceding that goal was poor from several members of the defensive unit. watch it again hengy

I have... Capoue gave the free kick away and Kane wasn't concentrating and put it in the net!!

No Dier is still part of the defensive unit that scores

-----

well no, he was in the centre forward position providing a key attacking run, and then scored…. at that time he had nothing to do with the defensive unit at all, apart from the position he happened to be playing on paper (not in reality)

No he's part of the attacking play but he's not part of the attacking unit ( which is what we are talking about )

Personally I put the blame all at Kane

No one close enough to him to put him off, just completely lost his concentration IMO

Btw Dembele

That's why I wanted him in against Liverpool!

He gets a raw deal from some fans IMO

Well I must have watched a different game is all I can say

Had that have been Everton or somebody like that away I might have agreed but Sunderland were complete and total crap and there are no excuses whatsoever for us not getting 3 points from that game.

grandspurs - new system, new players, new manager, you have to expect teething problems.

at least admit that for the first time in a while we seem to have a clue going forward…

Thats why a 30 minute spell of total domination at the end of the first half failed to create one decent chance?

Sorry I was disappointed last week and took the reasons you gave above as excuses.

Not yesterday, not against that total crap. They were on about a par with York City yesterday and there are no excuses in this world that I am prepared to accept for not winning that game.
