Another player who always gets criticism but never the praise.
So far I am very happy with him this season and Wenger made the right decision to let him play instead of Gibbs who will have to fight for his place.
Thoughts?

Nacho is good this season.

Nacho might have a better deliver than Gibbs but I terms of bombing up and down the flanks efficiently, Gibbs is far better.
Also, defensively it's not even a contest

Nacho was at fault for the first goal because we had no attacking threat on the left apart from him so he had too much ground to cover. It's Wenger's fault for playing Ozil on the left where he offers us very little going forward and is hopeless defending and tracking back.
Nacho has improved but still needs to work on his defending. At times speedy wingers do go past him quite easily. The problem with Gibbs is that he is made of glass and can never stay fit for more than 5 games on the trot. Of the two Gibbs is the better defender but the gap is closing.

He isnt. His crosses are awful most of the time. Absolute minimum end product going forward.

Only problem is that he is a crook

I thought that was Sanchez

Praise for what?
Always being out of position and can't defend properly

Apparently Pellegrini doesn't often start Navas?
If that's the case, then Nacho was kinda responsible for the first goal before a ball had even been kicked.
That said, he has shown a massive improvement at LB on last season so far. Though he seem reluctant to play there, it looks more and more as if he'll get some action at CB too.
If both players are fit, (yeah, if) then for me Gibbs is first choice. But I don't worry so much, seeing Monreal's name in the starting XI at the moment.

Nacho did better yesterday than he did in the 6-3 where Navas ripped him to shreds. Gibbs is clearly the better of the two, though. I just never feel confident when Nacho is isolated in one on one situations and with our new gung-ho approach this season, that is happening far too much.

Why some still confessed that Gibbs is far ahead of Nacho is beyond me.
