Ozil Article - Makes Sense

We all have our opinions of course but I think a lot of us agree with this article regarding Ozil and getting the best from him at Arsenal:

Ozil has a replacement in Cazorla.
Sanchez has a replacement in Joel.
Theo has a replacement in Ox.
Welbeck has a replacement in Giroud.

It would be a system we could play and interchange squad players with effortlessly instead of trying to cram them all on the pitch at the same time.

Good article... will never happen under Wenger.

totally agree, we use to be a counter attacking team, i'm getting old now but I think things changed when we built a team around Cesc.

You don't build a team around Ozil, you build a team that reacts to Ozil.

The article is selective and does not mention Germany, where he played on left side during WC. I doubt he would have started if Reus was not injured.

He was their top scorer in qualification, he definitely would have started if Reus had been fit. While he had a decent tournament, he obviously wasn't as influential playing on the left as he was say at the 2010 world cup. It's clear that Wenger is wasting him and not doing the team a favour either by sticking him out on the left.

Ozil's poor performance is not a tactical issue. At Madrid he drifted from centre to wide and back depending on the opposition and on the match progress, and still did well. This season he can't even do the basics of football like simple passes. And he looks physically drained and disinterested. No doubt he has quality, but I am now convinced that quality will never show at Arsenal.
