Morning all,
I realise that this is me preaching to a bunch of, well, people who are not preachers or believers per say. My analogy has fallen down already, which is almost as disappointing as our performance was yesterday. Yet, my point here is to suggest that we take it like the ungrateful kids that we are and move on.
We were naff yesterday. Naff. Not only were we naff, we were playing a very good team. Not only were we playing a very good team, but we were playing without an adequate defensive midfielder to screen entirely behind the midfield 3. Not only that, but that player happened to put in his worst Arsenal performance to date.
Be it as it may and Arteta is not my favourite player by any stretch, but I have to accept like any player from time to time he will have an off game. However, in that situation, we need our midfielders to realise this and chip in and drop off and help him out. This was not afforded last night, and 3 or 4 was a more reflective scoreline.
The point is though as football fans, we need to accept that we have nights like this. Ones where your team looks shoddy and makes you wonder whether they can kick a barndoor, or whatever appropriate phrase. We are not United fans, who in defeat are like Augustus Gloop when his parents finally say 'NO MORE FAT BOY!'. We are Arsenal fans, and the best of them get behind the team. Based on these articles, you guys are all an embarassment
My suggestions are either you start to take Valium on a regular basis, or you take a chill pill and get behind the team. And with that, make constructive articles critiquing the team. So many have you have the right ideas but do a Robbie Savage and go way over board.
Bring on Villa. I am expecting a much better intensity of performance.
COYG.

Too many Champions League nights like last night for Arsenal under Wenger I'm afraid.

Arsenal will get out of the group and then fall at the first hurdle thereafter.....
we will finish 4th in the league I think, with a mighty push when we have nothing else to play for...
this season and the way we are playing has an all to familiar feel to it...
like Groundhog Season or one of the other films where the same thing happens over and over until someone kills a groundhog (not seen the film...)

Arsenal fans with 'knee-jerk' reactions every other week, it seems.
When do these knee-jerks become genuine ground for complaint? Is 8 years not long enough?
