With the evident lack of interaction on here it is clearly apparent that we have been unable to replicate the debate and banter that we had on the old 606. It’s a real pity as I think this site has a much superior set up and is much more flexible than the previous.
Unfortunately some of the few that are on here wouldn’t know if a football was blown up or stuffed. More interested in their background than their skill levels
Reminiscing, with my blue rose tinted glasses, I always looked forward to the week leading up to the Linfield-Glentoran games, as the crack and anticipation was always immense.
Maybe the fact that there is a such a gap between the clubs now does not help. The normally slow starting Blues have begun the season as well as I can ever remember and are playing some tasty football.
Ah well, lets remember the old days with fondness and move on with grace

Due to the fact that use are IFA funded doesnt really help the matter. the article on the bbc from roy coyle the other day proved the difference between the 2 clubs in terms of the financial state.
he named a second 11 for linfield and stated that they would even finish in the top 4. without being bias what is your take on this.? how can you be happy each week with no competion?

The money we recieve from the IFA is not allowed to be used on the team, so that argument is a non starter.
We have a strict wage cap which put us out of the bidding for eg Hamilton, Kelbie
Good housekeeping and money for winning trophies keeps us afloat.
And no I am not happy with the competition.
Need a strong Glentoran, but cant blame anyone but yourselves for the mismanagement of money.

i agree with the mismanagement of money. i honestly believe that we are a good enough squad (altho thin) to compete with linfield and on the plus side are young and willing to play for the shirt. i think all we need is to start being ruthless in front of goal and stop messing about and try a shot.
when it comes to linfield use really have a big squad and its hard to look by them for the league this season again. how do linfield keep all those players happy tho. and if you love playing football why go to linfield just to sit on the bench every week.

Think its the competition for places that keep the squad going every week.
Knowing that one bad performance and you're out is a great incentive to play at your optimum.
Hope the Glens do improve (but not too much).
We need each other.
Think the Crues will run us all the way this season.

it is a good to have a bit of competition within the squad competing for places but if it was me and i thought i was going to play little football i would rather be somewhere else dont u agree.
we are strong this season. not as strong as i hoped but going in the rite direction. the crues play some decent football and i have no doubt that they will be upo there at the end of the season. if we dont win it then i hope they do. (thats my bitter side showing lol)
