Fifa

Just reading this morning that the Investigation into Corruption within Fifa by the U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia is now not going to be published.

Hans-Joachim Eckert, the German judge prseiding over the findings has said it is not intended to make the findings public.

This would be in my opinion disastrous, even for an organisation so self centred and seemingly not bothered by criticism.
It could indeed even be enough to finally wake up the apathy that seems to prevail within football that Blatter & his cronies are untouchable!

The article below was published only recently & even then Eckert was suggesting that the report would be kept inhouse.

The Munich-based head of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Commission also had a warning for delegates attending FIFA's Ethics convention in Zurich on Friday at which he will make a speech on the subject.

"Many won't like what I am going to tell them," he told Reuters on Tuesday.

FIFA's investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the votes won by Russia and Qatar in December 2010 was delivered by New York attorney Michael Garcia at the beginning of this month.

"I am expecting a decision in a few months. I see the beginning of November when I am going to get ready," Eckert said.

"I am currently reading the 360 pages," he said, adding that he has also received some 200,000 other pages of documents relating to the case.

One matter Eckert did not address was whether he would make the report public, although he has been urged to do so by a number of FIFA executive committee members including Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and Moya Dodd of Australia.

Garcia's probe into the allegations of bribery lasted more than a year with hundreds of people involved in the bids for the two World Cups interviewed by his team of investigators.

The Qatari organisers of the 2022 World Cup have repeatedly said they are confident of being cleared of any wrongdoing in the bidding process for the finals while the Russians have also brushed off suggestions their bid was flawed.

Widespread allegations of wrongdoing have been made regarding the decisions taken by the FIFA executive committee nearly four years ago and, although the 2018 bid won by Russia was also examined, most of the focus was reportedly on the 2022 bid.

Russia saw off challenges from England, Belgium/Netherlands and Spain/Portugal while Qatar finished ahead of Australia, Japan, South Korea and the United States to win the right to stage the 2022 finals.

Qatar's communications chief Nasser Al Khater told delegates at the Soccerex Global Convention last week: "We've always been confident of our position in the way we carried ourselves during the bidding stage.

"Also, we're 500-people strong working tirelessly day in and day out and I think that's an answer to the question."

The corruption involved in England getting the 1966 World Cup......................................Evidence to support this?
=====
It's all relative isn't it?

The World Cup is being moved around the World, it has to cover the globe.

China and India will both get it in time.

How much entertainment, pressure, lobbying, gifts are applied speeds up the process.

Or do you really think the FA woke up one morning in 1966 and found a letter saying they had won the lottery without buying a ticket?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you have no evidence to support your ridiculous allegation then? What a surprise.

Lol, should have known that anyway, he is talking shíte. The only consiacy I have heard in my lifetime is

British Brainwashing Corporation and British politicians are showing so much interest (rightly/wrongly) on the things surrounding FIFA in these days. But, why they are not investigating the frauds like Jorge Mendis, UEFA and few dodgy agents for the clear breach of footballing transfer rules..

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/22/-sp-jorge-mendes-agent-third-party-ownership-players

OP is quick to post anything relate to Russia/Qatar but clearly can't see the dodgy things happening in his own backyard..

muffinboy................................................The agent debate is a separate issue for discussion on another day. This post was SPECIFICALLY about Fifa not making this investigation findings public. I think that is clear enough, don't you?

PS: For your information, I think the agents are bleeding football dry & Third Party Ownership should be banned in other countries, as it is here!

Yes, I can understand your concerns about the bribery in football that happening across few developing nations. But, why the politicians of this country are not waging war against the dodgy agents like Mendes? Well, it's another form of corruption, no? His influence on club managers forcing to sign players that are owned by third party players is a crime, no?

BBC and politicians should stop this mudslinging campaign on Russia and Qatar (it's tedious and boring)for a brief and clear the mess that happening in their own backyard....that might benefit English football at international stage. Again, I'm not condoning that bribery scandal though.

Now steady on muffinboy, this is almost in the realms of a normal debate!

Mind you if your team keep playing as they are, some of us might have to eat our words!

Does anyone really think that Qatar was awarded being world cup hosts without anyone getting their pockets lined? Simply follow the money trail and you will find FIFA corruption.

Maybe or maybe not. For the betterment of club football UEFA should concentrate on tackling 3rd party registration and dodgy agents.
