What is going on?

I was puzzled by our performances against both west brom and liverpool, particularly west brom. The performance against QPR was perfect. We played very much in Pochettino's style pressing brilliantly and moving the ball around quickly. Now admittedly QPR aren't a great side, however I saw very little of that style against Liverpool and against west brom who are of a similar level to QPR we looked even worse than last season!
Of course it will take time for Pochettino to implement his style but the fact that we were so lethargic in everything we did against west brom, is a huge cause of concern. We simply didn't take the game to west brom at all apart from a short spell at the start of the second half. Maybe Jamie redknapp was right (for once) in saying that we simply don't have the players to press, mentioning the likes of chadli and adebayor. But surely after a pre-season with Pochettino the players are fitter and understand exactly what the manager demands of them?
Pochettino deserves time, at least a season however we all know what daniel levy is like and so there better be a quick improvement otherwise I fear for Pochettino's future even at this early stage if we continue to perform like we did on Sunday.
Anyway NLD on saturday and I don't think I've dreaded one as much as I am now for a long team. At the very least I expect a much improved display. Oh and we better get rid of paulinho in january. Any slightly long pass he has to play misses the target and he's so slow and casual!
