As we all know speed is the no 1 requisite of any F1 driver , speed is the lifeblood our sport and the very reason we bother with F1 in the first place -
just wondering who is the quickest driver you have ever seen , not the most intelligent , not the smoothest , not the bravest , not the best on the brakes , not the best with the tyres ,
------------ just ba/lls out ,bollox in the meat grinder , unadulterated , electrifying , terrifying ,wring its neck , no holds barred
--------------- one lap pace
and if possible give a detailed explanation why you believe it to be so with the driver of your choice -
it goes without saying that senna is widely held as the quickest ever by just about every expert connected with F1 and he would be my choice for his mercurial 15 pole laps in the uncompetitive JPS amongst many others in machinery not from the top shelf , not to mention on speed alone he proved without a doubt quicker than two other all time greats in prost and schumacher when they competed against senna -
however ------------ that is only my choice from the drivers i have seen so it is not an absolute that i am correct and maybe clark , villeneuve , fangio , were quicker -
----------- i await your deliberations on your own no 1 speed king and why you think it to be so --

We generally went to 4-5 races a season mostly in Europe or was that asia? Cannot remember the continent, I was so young

cant help you then manx -- probably was not asia as japan was the only one that was on the calendar when senna was around ,
